Day 218 – Colossians 2

Monday August 14: Colossians 2

Key Verse to consider: Verses 13-14 – “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.”

Question to ponder: Christ came to bring his followers freedom, but do we truly embrace this freedom? What “regulations” do well-meaning Christians place upon others in 2017? Do you find it ironic that a major staple of the Christian faith is that Christ actually “triumphed” on the cross in the midst of crucifixion, an obvious and cruel form of execution? How can a death by execution actually be a triumph?

Prayer Point: Pray for the freedom Christ has brought YOU to flow from your heart and mind to others. Pray for a spirit of love, not judgment; pray for a heart of compassion, not cynicism; pray for unity in the midst of diversity.
