Monday August 21: Proverbs 5
Key Verse to consider: Verses 3-4 – “For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword.”
Question to ponder: Proverbs 5 speaks of the danger and destruction of sexual sin, especially adultery. Why is sexual sin so powerful and enticing in 2017? Is sexual sin different than all other sins or is a sin simply a sin? “A man’s ways are in full view of the Lord” – could this teaching from verse 21 help us in a “fearful” kind of way to be wise and discerning when it comes to sexual sin?
Prayer Point: Pray for purity in your life sexually. If you are single, remain pure; if you are married, remain faithful. Ask the Lord to “keep you from the evil of sexual sin.”
